Ronn Bailey Biography

Founder, CEO & CTO of Vanguard Integrity Professionals

Ronn BaileyRonn H. Bailey is founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Vanguard Integrity Professionals - Nevada. He is a recognized Leader in information security technology and has been for more than three decades. Ronn has worked closely with governmental agencies and Fortune 1000 companies worldwide, to identify, clarify, and resolve continually evolving issues related to computer system security, controls, audits and privacy. He is an inventor and holds several security related patents.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Bailey has advised the governments of Australia, Brazil, Japan, and the United States regarding critical infrastructure security. Just Recently, Ronn was a Special Keynote Speaker at the Annual InfoSec 2003 Meeting on the second anniversary of 9/11. Mr. Bailey addressed a distinguished audience of UN Ambassadors, Ministers, Diplomats, Government and IT Business Executives in the prestigious Conference Room #4 at the United Nations Building in New York City.

Mr. Bailey's speech regarding information security was powerful, and exceptionally relevant given the significance of the date. He explained that protecting cyberspace, as it pertains to our critical information infrastructure, is usually focused on PCs, network servers and devices, the Internet, and even pervasive computing devices such as Palm pilots and cell phones. He stressed that the exclusion of very large systems known as mainframes where most of the world's critical data resides poses a serious threat to every nation's security.

Ronn Bailey at Defense Analysis InstituteIn August of 2002, Mr. Bailey's presence was requested in Washington DC by the Defense Analysis Institute, an academic think-tank jointly funded by the CIA and NSA. Ronn provided vital leadership in the development of the President's National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace.

Additionally, President Bush and his Critical Information Protection Board, The Foreign Intelligence Committee, The OMB and NASA have all called upon Mr. Bailey for guidance and direction for securing the critical information infrastructure. Mr. Bailey has also advised the Department of Homeland Security on the new threats to our most vital systems, Mainframes, the potential impact of attacks on them, and what must be done to protect them.

Mr. Bailey was a founding member and an elected member of the Board of Directors serving as treasurer for the International Security Trust and Privacy Alliance (ISTPA), an international association of companies and technology providers focused on addressing critical issues related to personally identifiable information (personal information privacy) on the network and computer systems.

Ronn Bailey at RACF security user groupMr. Bailey was active in the intelligence field for a number of years prior to entering the commercial computer industry. Ronn co-founded the first IBM Resource Access Control Facility (RACF®) security user group and assisted in the establishment of eleven similar user groups worldwide.

He is a past President and honorary member of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), which is a non-profit association comprising security officers, managers and higher-level executives. Over the years he has been an active member and leader in many other organizations such as SHARE, GUIDE, EDPAA, CACS, MIS, CSI, TEC and others. He is a frequent speaker on information security issues at conferences, gatherings and meetings around the world.

ISSA Organization of the YearIn December of 2003, Vanguard, with Ronn at the helm, was recognized by the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) with the "2003 Outstanding Organization of the Year Award." The ISSA's annual awards are presented to individuals and companies that have shown leadership in advancing the information security profession.

Ronn currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the corporate headquarters of Vanguard Integrity Professionals - Nevada is located.
