Scholarship Program
Congratulations for taking the first step towards gaining invaluable knowledge, and meeting industry experts in the field of Information Security and the world of the IBM® Mainframe. The Vanguard Security Conference has developed a program to inspire university and college students to gain a better understanding of information security and System z. Five students from across the nation will be chosen to attend the conference at no charge, including up to five nights’ hotel accommodations (does not include travel to and from Jacksonville, FL).
How to Apply:
- Complete the Scholarship Application and submit by 5:00pm PDT on April 3, 2009.
- Please submit your completed application with the signature from the Dean of the department which confirms that you are enrolled as a full-time student in Computer Science or equivalent program.
- Submit an essay (250-word minimum) by 5pm PDT on April 3, 2009 explaining your passion for Computer Science and how you intend to use your education in the Computer Science field.

Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before 4/24/09 via email and/or telephone.
Scholarship Contest Rules:
- All applications and essays must be submitted by 5:00pm PDT on April 3, 2009 to the Scholarship Committee for consideration.
- Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more) in Computer Science or similar program at a University, College or Technical School.
- The Dean of the program in which the applicant is enrolled must validate the application with signature.
- Must be 18 years of age or older by May 30, 2009.
- Scholarship has no cash value. No refunds will be given in the event of non-attendance.
- Scholarship is non-transferable.
- Final decision of Scholarship Recipients will be decided by a panel of industry experts and members of the event staff. All decisions are final and will be based on the applicant's current academic program and quality of essay submitted. The applicant’s identity will remain anonymous during the selection process.
- Scholarship Recipients will be notified on or before April 24, 2009.
- Scholarship includes: full conference attendance including admittance to one full day session on Sunday, May 31 and up to five nights stay at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville (room and taxes only). Food and beverage outside of event functions, and incidentals are the Scholarship Recipient's responsibility.
- Travel to and from Jacksonville, FL is the Scholarship Recipient's responsibility.
- Vanguard Integrity Professionals reserves the right to cancel the scholarship program at any time at their discretion.
