Vanguard Integrity Professionals was founded in July 1986. The company began with Information Security consulting and training services for the z/OS platform. The success of its initial offerings quickly led to the company’s first annual security conference in August 1987. Revenues and profits from these operations funded Vanguard’s software research and development efforts, which resulted in its inaugural software product introduced in December 1989.
The success of its first product, Vanguard Administrator, commanded the attention of the industry and created a growing demand for additional enterprise security software to address its needs. Vanguard responded immediately and invested in the future of security software through extensive research and development efforts, which eventually led to the establishment of Vanguard Research Institute in Orange, California.
Under the strategic guidance of the Institute’s research and development team, Vanguard today has pioneered more than 13 security software solutions and has forged the way, making remarkable advancements in new security concepts and technology. The company’s commitment to innovation and modern security resulted in its position as the preeminent subject matter expert and leader in the industry.
Vanguard’s market focus at that time, and remains, on large enterprises, which collectively today make up the Fortune 1000 and governments worldwide: the critical information infrastructure of most countries.

Vanguard’s Professional Services team, with an average of 25 years of experience, has provided strategic consulting services for hundreds of enterprises and agencies.
Today, Vanguard has software installations and services engagements in over 30 countries.
Vanguard remains a privately held company operating under the strategic guidance of its founder, Ronn Bailey, who continues to function as the company’s Chief Executive and Technology Officer.
