Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

 

The Professional Service Consultant/Enterprise Systems is a senior level, billable technical resource. Consultants provide pre-sales software support, scope new Professional Service opportunities, and serve as a billable revenue stream for the company. This position works closely with Sales, Research & Development, Marketing and Client Services. Leveraging Vanguard Integrity Professionals’ knowledge, innovation, service and agility, the Professional Services Consultant will work in a team environment to ensure the delivery of cybersecurity solutions to clients, worldwide. This includes with software development and implementation, sales, marketing and client services assets to understand and exceed client expectations. The successful incumbent will deliver the duties as described below:

 

  • Maintains a billable utilization of 65%. This is driven by sales and marketing.
  • Provides pre-sales technical support for software, training and consulting solutions with prospects and current clients, as available.
  • Participate in pre-sales processes by working with sales and account management professionals to win new business; implementing business; proposal review and refinement; recruiting and staff development.
  • Actively seek out up/cross sell opportunities when engaged with clients.
  • Participate in managing scheduling and promotion of all RACF and Product training classes outside of the annual conference.
  • Work with Legal, Operations and Sales to generate and prepare statements of work for client opportunities.
  • Perform security assessments and controlled penetration tests, as assigned.
  • Design, configuration, and implementation of VPN, firewalls, and IDS.
  • Assist clients with evaluation of Vanguard and third party security products.
  • Assist clients with knowledge transfer and training programs to educate users on security awareness, policy & standards, and procedures.
  • Maintain any contemporary professional licenses and certification, as well as engage in continuous learning in the field of information security.
  • Proactively make process improvement recommendations and participate in the development of policies, procedures, methods, and tools in support of solution delivery, as required.
  • Have satisfactory interactions customers in the solicitation, sales, delivery and follow up of all engagements.
  • Interacts by phone and in-person with Vanguard staff members, management, contract vendors, and customers.
  • As needed, provide input to Marketing on marketing materials, campaigns and the launch of any new products or solutions.
  • Works closely with Research & Development to communicate client product needs and impressions.
  • Adherence to all Vanguard security, general and operational policies, procedures and work rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills and Abilities

In-depth knowledge of any one or more of the following areas:

    • RACF
    • ACF2
    • Top Secret
    • DB2
    • z/OS Systems programming experience
  • Extensive knowledge of security Implementations on multiple platforms including Windows, Unix, Linux, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface directly with clients as part of a consulting team.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Individual must be capable of accurately assessing needs, maintaining a calm business demeanor, and taking quick action to resolve issues, by phone are in-person.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communications, presentation, human relations and interpersonal skills at a management level.
  • minimum of 10 years working directly with many clients performing pre- and post-sales product support, product training and product consulting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Information Technology Security Arena.
  • Appropriate vendor certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Technical training on security products.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related discipline.
