Summary

The ACF2 Professional Services Consultant is a senior level, billable technical resource, focused on solving customer’s problems.

Tasks, Responsibilities and Deliverables

Professional Services Consultants will work with external clients. They will analyze customer’s unique challenges and propose potential solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences for our clients. Our Professional Services Consultants are responsible for the implementation, delivery, and on-going management of our external client engagements. They will work to ensure the delivery of solutions to clients worldwide.

  • Maintains a billable utilization of 65%
  • Analyze customer’s unique challenges and propose potential solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Anticipate and communicate project risks, and find solutions to these risks for our clients
  • Act as a client’s trusted advisor in an area of expertise
  • Implement solutions on the customer’s environment in order to solve customer’s problems
  • Recommend new business operations, systems, and policies to clients
  • Work to generate and prepare statements of work for client opportunities
  • Perform highly detailed technical work on client’s environment (such as; installation and maintenance of z/OS applications, re-aligning operating system and application parameters and access rights to meet operational and regulatory needs, perform security assessments and/or controlled penetration tests)
  • Assist clients with evaluation of Vanguard software products
  • Assist clients with knowledge transfer and training programs to educate users on security awareness, policy & standards, and procedures
  • Engage in continuous learning in the field of Information Security
  • Have satisfactory interactions with customers in all engagements
  • Works closely within Vanguard to communicate client product needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills and Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of the ACF2 External Security Manager(s) used to provide access control to the z/OS Operating system
  • Ability to provide clients with ACF2 implementation and integration assistance
  • Experience Architecting ACF2 databases, including UID Roles, Scoping Records, XROLES, SAF Def Entries, GSO, and more
  • Experience managing DB2 and USS security using ACF2 interfaces
  • Experience migrating existing ACF2 deployments to a RBAC model
  • In-depth knowledge on the setup, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of the ACF2 Security Environment in support of z/OS Operating System, including its major subsystems (such as CICS, DB2, IMS, z/OSMF, USS)
  • Ability to create one-off scripts in order to solve unique challenges, including but not limited to REXX
  • Experience auditing and hardening z/OS against regulatory standards (such as PCI-DSS, HiTrust, HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Familiarity integrating and solving problems with non-z/OS solutions (such as Windows, Linux, PKI/Certificates, FTP)
  • Ability to interface directly with clients; solo or as part of a consulting team
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Junior Professional Services Consultants
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform technical training and presentations, to small or large groups
  • Accurately assessing client’s needs and taking quick action to resolve issues
  • Excellent writing, editing, communications, presentation, human relations and interpersonal skills at a management level
  • A minimum of 10 years working directly in the z/OS arena
  • Ability to travel to customer’s location as determined by the Customer
  • Appropriate vendor certifications or equivalent experience
